Well here we are at the Health Advocate’s trining day for the Better Health North Easat awards. What a motleuy crew of highly motivated and forthright individuals (sic). The content well for me it was quite basic but nonetheless interesting of sorts after the initial technical hitch. What is a training day without an IT balls up it’s like cream in your coffee unless you are healthy eating I guess 🙂

The trainers were highly motivated and this is obviously the pinnacle of their career in large group health promotion. The usual alcohol advice mixed with 5 a day with bread, pasta and rice. I noted no one answered the question of where the evidence base was for this advice- an answer sharply avoided me thinks. I objected to the recommendation of complimentary or alternative remedies especially in light of recent government committee advice but this was also ignored. Again a sharp case of deflecting the argument.
Overall an enjoyable day and reinforced what I already new but nice to network and see new people and get a different opinion and enjoyable. A number of fire fighters were present so that they will be able to deliver core health messages to staff.
